Jut and I went to check out some new water last Saturday. I heard from very reliable sources that it was good smallmouth fishing. Looked promising. Caught one decent smallie in the first 20 minutes. A few rock bass, a spot, then nothing. But we saw probably 100 gar in a 1/4 mile. They seemed to be spawning. They weren't interested in our flies.
