As some of you may know, I recently purchased a video camera. I also got a tripod. I plan on making a movie. About fishing. In Indiana. For smallmouth. Bass.
Yeah, I know, it's going to be pretty sweet. I also realize that I don't know much about making movies. But I've been told that I have a "good eye" (thanks mom!). So that's something. I'll be posting updates on the progress until it's done. I'm going to make a DVD and sell it to ESPN. Or at least Verses. Mike Iaconelli will endorse it I'm sure.
This is, then, my first update. I went out the other day and got actual footage of water. Still just practice, but now all I need are some fish. One thing I particularly like is how tumbling water looks on the DVX100B (my camera). 24p (film-like frame rate) is what's giving it that look, I think. R.A. Beattie's Nervous Water trailer has a great shot of white water in it. Wonder if he shoots with 24p?
Also, as it was 56 degrees here today, I went fishing. I got skunked. But I did see this creepy ass thing way back in the woods lording over a productive run.
